In this way, we solve for tomorrow’s business climate, not today’s fickle weather.
Principles of Future Solutions
Future solutions are policies, programs, and practices with several unwavering principles. See below.
Excellence requires intrinsic or internal motivation
for continuous improvement.
Saul’s PhD basically shows how you should, “measure your performance today against your performance yesterday – you are the reference point for your capabilities and potential, nobody else – in these ways we produce lasting change”
Organizational culture must include lived experiences that breed resilience and grit.
Petersen Future Solutions (PFS) acts as a recruitment leveler - like all teams that Dr. Petersen leads, we insist upon making the workplace a place to elevate minority voices.
Leadership must be both wise and brave to move forward, to adapt, and to change.
Dr. Petersen has led institutional change in ways that are inclusive and democratic, or Senate policy revision that formally recognizes civic engagement, or nonprofit rebranding and restructuring that stay true to purpose. Petersen’s work embeds the rights of future generations into planning and implementation – so that solutions endure.
Solutions must be shaped by an inclusive representation of all your stakeholders.
Representative democracy, in which each stakeholder group is present and empowered at the table of decision-making, is fundamental to enduring and ethical solutions.
Solutions can only endure if they protect the rights to health and life for all in the future.
Solutions must be prediction-tested against the rights of your grandchildren to health and opportunity equal to, or better than, those you enjoy. Your must ask yourself, what will be the legacy of this work?
Solutions must plan for NO carbon or pollution burden passed on without consequence.
Draw a line in the sand. Even if laws don’t yet count the cost of pollution, we don’t need the government to tell us what’s the right way to do business. Either we make projects pollution-free or we build in the cost of clean-up. Simple, and our descendants deserve it.

“I have known Saul for five years as his advisor, instructor, and dissertation director at the Graduate School of CUNY, and it has been very gratifying to work with him. In my view, his dissertation on "The Role of Goal Setting and Automaticity in Novice Athletes’ Development and Performance of a Tennis Skill: A Coaching Intervention" is of publishable quality. This study was also distinguished because its unique methodology, called micro-analysis, which involves detailed observations of students, their self-ratings, and their answers to interview questions before, during, and after engaging in practice. Dr. Petersen’s findings provide insight into how students with little initial skill can be taught to learn using experts’ methods of self-regulation.”

"On behalf of my team, SEI is proud to be expanding our impacts with the guidance and support of regional leaders like Saul Peterson. I began connecting with Saul 4 years ago to understand the people, programs, and need areas for bringing critical support to middle and high school teachers across New Jersey to meet the first-in-the-nation climate education standards. As the Executive Director of EngageNJ, Saul brought a wealth of insight to SEI’s team of educators. He provided regionally appropriate guidance, actively connecting us to K through College partners and helping us identify programmatic opportunities to accelerate place-based climate education and career pathways."
