What We
Offer
01
Identifying Skilled Candidates
The niche offered by Petersen Future Solutions (PFS) is the untapped and largely unknown population of future “thrivers” – students graduating with the experiences and skills that lend themselves to a thriving workplace. These students exist in their hundreds from each institution of higher education, but are also being nurtured through Petersen’s nonprofit, Engage NJ, to work in teams on projects that address community issues related to climate change, education and economic hardship. As CEO of Engage NJ, Dr. Petersen has been spotlighting these skills and candidates for year with many efforts, including Thrivers.
Added to your working environment, a candidate enriched by community service that is goal-based, team-driven, and long-term, brings with them solutions, resilience, cross-cultural competency, and comfort with difficulty. But how do you identify these candidates? With a little push from PFS, of course.
I worked with New Jersey Business & Industries Association to bring together employers and student “thrivers” to better understand what, a) employers are crying out for in their workforce and, b) what skills or competencies these students have developed through their experiential opportunities. It was revelatory!

02
Enhancing Employee Volunteer Programs and Practices
With nearly two decades of experience in organizing community engagement / volunteer projects, Dr. Petersen has amassed all the experience necessary to develop ethical, impactful, engaging, team-building employee volunteer experiences. In the case of a business needing to enhance current practices, Petersen is quite simply way ahead of the curve in overseeing volunteer programs that will make a positive impression for all involved.
I oversee a grant-funded program that creates volunteer opportunities for 7,000 people on MLK Day, requiring a massive coordination effort among hundreds of staff and volunteers from across the country.

Executive Coaching
Dr. Petersen has been working directly with top executives in club management, business, state government, and higher education for almost three decades. He has experience working with leaders who have clarity, humility, an aura… AND… Petersen has worked with, well, imposters.
When you are brave enough to be yourself, to lead with active listening, to see success as the outcome of multiple contributors, your team will want to give you their best because they can take pride in their skill and in the fruits of their labor. This has taken me many years of experimentation, and numerous mistakes, to learn this executive approach that forges a legacy.
